Our Vision Statement: Building Christ focused families that disciple their community for Him.
Our vision statement can be broken down to four core values that define everything we do at Village. We believe these four core values are essential to the health of the church and to the spiritual health of each Christian.
Outreach
We are committed to sharing Christ with our own communities, the community around Village, and the rest of the world. As we have each been changed by the work of Christ, it is our desire to share him with as many as possible and see others join the family of God. With all that Christ has done, how can we keep silent! God is working through activities such as AWANA, 2nd Harvest food distribution, outreach events, and various missions trips. We also are committed to a number of missionaries who are taking God’s Word to the ends of the earth. May we have God’s heart for the lost.
2 Cor 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Community
We are committed to being a church family here at Village. Community includes being connected with each other and also being committed to helping and loving each other. We share the same Lord and Savior and so have the most important part of life in common. We strive to build an environment where real fellowship happens, people build each other up in the Lord, and we encourage each other to grow spiritually. In a culture where so many relationships stay on the surface, we will build meaningful relationships that spur us to Christ-likeness, ministry, and outreach. We work to put community into practice through a variety of opportunities like family nights, Dinner 6, Home groups, and other activities. May we be God’s church.
Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Heb 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Spiritual Growth
We are committed to the ongoing process of growing into Christ-likeness. Spiritual growth spans our lifetime and involves those activities and disciplines that draw us closer to God in our daily lives. As a church, we will hold fast our commitment to God’s Word and honor it as the manual for Christian living. As individuals, we seek to be radically changed by the Lord and transformed daily into the people of God as we walk with Him. This commitment will show itself in our biblical teaching, Sunday service, and the types of activities we do here at Village. No matter how long we have been believers, may we each continue to draw closer to Christ every day and may everything we do bring glory to Him!
2 Cor 3:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Ministry
We are committed to finding a place of ministry for every believer. All believers have been gifted by God to serve Him in exciting and unique ways and as we minister, God works and the body grows! We were each created to serve. The end result of living in community and growing in the Lord is a life dedicated to serving our Lord. We will explore each member’s gifting and find an area of ministry that offers a chance to do significant things for God’s kingdom. May we each develop a ministry heart and use the time given us to bring glory to God.
1 Pet 4:10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
Ephesians 4:16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
